GA-AL-TN…Windows 10 Drama

Hello Everyone!  I am still traveling, but I have also been doing a little dance with Windows 10 that was installed about 10 days ago!      I no longer have the picture editing program that I’ve been using for…forever!      I hope to have conquered the beast within the next several days…then you will have plenty to read and see as I have been through 3 states during this period of time!      Thanks for being patient!

GA-Pit Stop and Pine Mountain Joy

I’m beginning with a beautiful Bright Spot today.  I met Barbara and Al at an IHOP (a different one than I had Googled, how interesting) on my way to Pine Mountain.  After I finished having brunch, a gentleman across the aisle asked about my foot.  I briefly shared the incident and then somehow I ended up sitting next to Barbara and having a wonderful chat.  These two amazing people have been married 55 years!  One heckuva bright spot in itself!  They also spend recoup time together in early June.  Right before Barbara was scheduled for a total knee replacement, Al fell offRead More

The Buddhist Monastery in Kissimmee, FL

I got a surprise when I turned out of Orange Grove last week to discover that right next door was a Buddhist Monastery!  There was a crowd on the grounds and I couldn’t help but stop to see what was going on.  I found out it was the beginning of Vassa…a Buddhist practice where the monks retreat for 3 months between July and October (this is the rainy season in India and it was customary not to travel during this period so as not to risk harming the crops, insects or themselves).             Typically,Read More

FL – Gratitude Saves Me Every Time

Lake Rousseau RV Park was a one night-er, but the place was beautiful and I had so much fun with the kids in the pool.  There were 4 of them, ages 8-11.  I got them to do crazy jumps into the pool so there would be big waves for me to ride while I laid back on my float!  It was hysterical!  Cannonballs, twists, belly/back flops, free falls, can-openers and on and on!  I thanked them for entertaining me when I left. I saw him (about 85-90 yrs old)  ridingpast me as I was leaving the campground…so cool!Read More

OTR – On The Road – AGAIN

Well, the day finally arrived.  Time to venture out into the unknown once again.  After sitting for the better part of 4 months, it was a welcomed moment!  Of course, my adventures will be limited quite a bit for a while longer…however, I have no plans to concern myself over THAT!      I have been taking a very exciting online course over the last 6 weeks to learn the ins and outs of freelance copywriting (marketing…sales letters/packages).  I am shocked actually at how much fun it has been since I have a history of sales aversion, butRead More

FL-Delightful Visit with Megan

To my delight, Megan made a return visit to Florida!  We had a great time…almost a week!!!  The weather was very sporadic and Sanibel Island was a tad disappointing, but nonetheless, it was a wonderful visit together!  Enjoy the pics. In between trips to the beach, a road trip with Van-Go and a craft fair, Megan helped me get all my ‘stuff’ into the van before she left!  I was scheduled to get back on the road 3 days after she went home.  What a blessing she was!!!  We both got turtle tattoos at the craft fair…so cute! A full rainbowRead More

FL-Fourth of July Weekend Brought 2 Firecrackers Extraordinaire

Fourth of July – hot dogs, beach parties, baseball games, fireworks…. Well, that is what it has come to mean for many and that’s great!  Originally, the reason for celebration was because a nation declared independence…broke away courageously from “the way things were done’ traditionally.      This weekend I had the distinct pleasure of a brief encounter with two women who I believe exemplify the true meaning of independence…daring to do things differently than most…breaking the mold and taking a giant leap of faith to create something that you believe in! Bright Spot – On Friday,Read More

FL-A Special Visit from Maryland

Rachel slid right under my chair trying to pull me out of the sun! TOO funny!  Last weekend,  Rachel and Megan flew into town…Madeira Beach, FL…to visit me.  It was so wonderful hanging out with them for almost 5 days.  With them here to spot me and help in other ways, I was able to go to the beach and GET WET…woohoo!!!  We had a blast doing everything we did.  Our experiences are best exemplified in pictures.  So, here goes… What can be said here except scrumptious! The girls were visited by an uninvited guest! There’s a storm comin’ AfterRead More

FL-Manuscript in the Mail

YES!  My first official poetry manuscript submission!  Back in the saddle of writing, I researched a few literary contests.  Unicorn Press offered one…First Book Contest.  The requirements were to send in 56-72 pages of unpublished original poetry.  I sent 64 poems on 68 pages.  The winner receives $250 and will have their poetry published in a hand-bound book by Unicorn Press.  Woo!  Hoo!  Wish me luck…you gotta play to win!!!    I had a creative surge after I returned from the post office and stretched my skills to include drawing…designed a fun cover for my poetry book.  I mayRead More
